The post WANEP-Nigeria, in partnership with the Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development (CJID), successfully concluded a two-day training for community leaders and grassroots stakeholders under the EU-supported project, “Countering Disinformation and Empowering Democracy in North-western Nigeria.” first appeared on WANEP-Nigeria.

Through interactive learning sessions, peer mentorship, conflict analysis exercises, storytelling, and collaborative action planning, participants explored practical approaches to addressing pressing peace and security challenges affecting women, girls, and communities across Nigeria. The training also demonstrated the transformative power of peer learning, with former Young Women Leaders for Peace participants serving as facilitators and mentors for a new generation of young peacebuilders.

A key outcome of the training was the development of four community action plans focused on preventing youth recruitment into violence, responding to gender-based violence, promoting inclusive disaster recovery and accountability, and advancing safer schools and girls’ education.
