Barau Emmanuel

   

Barau Emmanuel is a versatile professional with a diverse skill set and extensive experience in various fields. He excels as a development communicator, peace worker, Nutritionist, experienced researcher, and seasoned print and broadcast journalist. Furthermore, he has demonstrated his proficiency as a public policy and affairs analyst, public relations specialist, and even a nutritionist, underscoring his adaptability and unwavering commitment to making a positive impact across multiple domains.

With a career spanning several years, Barau has held pivotal roles within organizations dedicated to peacebuilding and conflict resolution in Nigeria. Notably, as the Coordinator of the Conflict Early Warning Early Response System Situation Room at the Kaduna State Peace Commission, he played a crucial role in conceptualizing and developing the system. His leadership qualities shone through as he led a team of analysts and situation officers, showcasing his dedication to conflict prevention. Currently, as the West African Network for Peacebuilding (WANEP), EWER Technical Advisor for Kaduna under the Peace Action for Rapid and Transformative Nigeria Early Response (PARTNER) activity, funded by USAID, Barau’s expertise in Early Warning Early Response extends to policy influencing in early response. He collaborates with community stakeholders to mitigate conflict situations through soft approaches such as dialogue and organic solutions, addressing a wide range of security challenges.

Barau holds a Masters Degree in Development Studies and Policy Analysis from the Kaduna State University.
