The West Africa Network for Peacebuilding (WANEP), in collaboration with the Global Network of Women Peacebuilders (GNWP) and with support from Global Affairs Canada, is hosting a 3-day Stakeholders Workshop on the Localization of United Nations Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 1325.

The workshop brings together over 35 key stakeholders including state and non-state actors to deepen understanding of UNSCR 1325 and Nigeria’s National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security (WPS).

This initiative aims to strengthen multi-stakeholder collaboration and drive local ownership of the WPS Agenda in Lagos State.

The workshop is expected to culminate in the drafting of the Lagos State Action Plan (SAP) on UNSCR 1325, It is a significant step toward ensuring that the voices, rights, and leadership of women are central to peace and security efforts.
