Beyond flooded roads and disrupted services, the impact extends to livelihoods, businesses, transportation, electricity and access to essential services while disproportionately increasing risks for women, children, older persons and persons with disabilities.
Flooding is also a peace and security concern. Displacement, pressure on limited resources and humanitarian assistance, community grievances, and strain on public institutions can deepen existing vulnerabilities and tensions.

Coordinated action among government, communities, civil society and other stakeholders
