Comrade Nelson Nnanna Nwafor is the Executive Director of foundation for Environmental Rights, Advocacy & Development FENRAD  He has been engaged in Community Development, community social mobilization activities, policy analysis/Advocacy and Human Rights work for more than twenty years, focusing on various aspects of Community development, conflict resolution & mitigation, Peace building, policy Intervention, Human Rights & social justice.  He is a B.sc holder in Accountancy and Public Administration and Msc holder in Peace building and conflict resolution. He is an Environmental & Human Rights Advocate, Conflict resolution Expert and Peace Ambassador.

He has gained considerable experience in the design and implementation of pro-poor and conflict resoluction based policies and Peace Building across Nigeria. Most of the projects centers’ on Environmental protection and preservation, conflict resolution & mitigation, inter religious peace dialogue, Policy Monitoring and Advocacy, Environmental and Health Management, community Development, Gender, Human Rights and social justice  

Comrade Nelson Nnanna Nwafor has been an active development partner who has contributed his quota in the development of his community, state and the country at large in peace building and conflict resolutions as member of Partners For Peace and implemented many community conflict resolutions intervention in the troubled oil Rich Region of Niger Delta States. He has developed methodologies that form the basis of data-driven technological platforms that parse massive amounts of qualitative and quantitative data to provide policy makers and practitioners with the tools that allow for informed decision making and enhanced response and have  provided training on issues such as conflict assessment and human rights and security for practitioners to better understand contextual dynamics and respond appropriately to conflict and crisis, leveraging good practice and respecting international best practice

In the course of his work he has advocated for different policy change which has yielded positive result in the state. As a strong voice for change, he has facilitated different environmental change which has helped in achieving the Sustainable Development Goal 13 and as a result of his work, has been nominated as the Regional Co-coordinator of Civil Society Network on Security Sector Reforms in Nigeria (CSNSSR) who advocate for the implementation of Sustainable development Goals (SDG) on areas of Peace Building and conflict resolutions.

His work in advocacy and policy reformation has given rise to the review of laws and the drafting of governance, environmental and social legislations towards improving the environmental Rights of the oil producing communities and ensuring a peaceful Environment as a member of African coalition on Corporate Accountability (ACCA)

He has also led several advocacies on fiscal transparency which has given rise to the open budget process in the Southern Region of Nigeria and Abia State in Particular. Haven served as the Zonal secretary of Southeast Budget Network and is a member of the citizen wealth platform and Niger Delta Monitoring group. His work has aided the opening up of the procurement process in the state. He has been appointed into many committees by Abia State Government to protect Human Rights and inter Religious Dialogue due to his vast experience in Peace building, Dialogue and conflict Resolution

Presently his present work has culminated into Abia state government setting up 17 men panel of inquiry after the ENDSARs protest and Post Covid 19 which comrade Nelson Nnanna Nwafor is a member due to his wealth of experience in security sector Governance, Peace building and Human Rights work.

 He presently the Zonal coordinator of civil society security sector Reforms in the Southeast supported by CLEEN FOUNDATION  which is coalition of Rights group engaging the security agencies on security accountability, monitoring the conduct of security Agencies for peaceful civil policing and protection of Human Rights And have organized many interfaith religious dialogue to mitigate violence and crisis in Abia state through inter faith religious consultative forum.
