Femi Emmanuel

Emmanuel Michael Oluwafemi serves as a Program Assistant at the West Africa Network for Peacebuilding (WANEP-Nigeria). He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution from the National Open University of Nigeria. Femi’s expertise in early warning systems, including the National Early Warning System (NEWS), Continental Early Warning System of the African Union (CEWS), and the Economic Community of West African States Early Warning System (ECOWARN), enables him to work closely with the NEWS Manager to produce Early Warning Early Response (EWER) outputs.

 

His professional experience includes contributing to various projects, such as serving as a Field Officer in community outreach initiatives during the COVID-19 pandemic and participating in the UNDP-funded project “Strengthening Local and State Level Peace Architecture for Peacebuilding and Prevention in Katsina and Kaduna States of North-West Nigeria” (2023-2025). Femi has also been involved in the Women in Peacebuilding Network (WIPNET) program and the Active Non-Violence and Peace Education Program. He serves on several committees, including the Editorial Committee and the Strategic Planning Committee, which oversees the development of a 5-year operational blueprint for the organization. With a passion for creating sustainable peace models, Femi is dedicated to making a positive impact in his field.
