Ms. Bridget Affiah

Bridget is a peace building and conflict prevention practitioner with 18 years of experience working with women and youths in oil bearing communities in the Niger Delta, particularly mainstreaming women in peace building processes and community development in the Niger Delta. As the South south focal person Women in peace building network (WIPNET) of WANEP, She is currently the South –south zonal coordinator for West Africa Network For Peace building (WANEP). She has undergone several certificate courses in peace building and conflict prevention, she has a first degree in English Language and Education, a master’s degree in counseling psychology, another masters in Peace and Security studies and several certificates in peace building and conflict prevention and the prestigious certificate, in peace and security from the international visitors leadership program (IVLP) in 2015 from the United states of America exchange program. Bridget presently pursues a PHD in Peace and security studies.

she facilitates environmental education for community women. She also infuse peace building and economic empowerment, through skills training and entrepreneur trainings.  She is an excellent trainer and facilitator for peace building, environment and conflict prevention programs. She is also an educator with several years of teaching experience. She is the executive director of Ideal Women Advancement Initiative and the J.D Foh Development Foundation. 

She led initiatives that helped resolve the climate crisis between Farmers and Herders in south funded by the USAID Tagged “Sharing the Green Grass, implemented by the Search For Common Ground funded to the tune of $1.2million “This initiative helped communities in the South-south work and integrate  herders who are forced to move from the North to the South as a result of desertification effect on their communities living system, she Created dialogue platforms for farmers / herders to cooperate on grazing issues to reduce tension and violent conflicts over grazing space and  farm lands.
