Y. Z. Ya’u

Z. Ya’u, born in 1960 in Katagum Local Government of Bauchi State of Nigeria is the Director of the Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD). He lectured in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Bayero University, Kano from 1984 until 2000 when he resigned to co-found CITAD, one of the few ICT-focus NGOs in the country, which has been working on youth entrepreneurship, peace building, popularization of ICT, ICT policy advocacy and ICT business development support services. In 2007, he directed the Annual Child Institute of the Council for the Development of Social Science in Africa (CODESRIA), Dakar Senegal on Youth and ICTs. He is also the Vice President of the Information Technology (Industry) Association of Nigeria (ITAN) and registered member of the Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN).
